Born
and raised in South Jamaica Queens N.Y. Blue Sky has had his gift of creative
expression since childhood. His first love was for the visual arts, exploring
the worlds of the abstract and surrealism,also heaily influenced by the DA-DA
movement. In 1968 as a young man just entering high school Blue Sky heard
for the first time the performance poetry of The Last Poets who he was very
much inspired by because of their Poetic Artistry,Political Statements and
their Rhythmic Energy. The Spirit of those times(the late 1960s)was very moving
on many levels. Not much has changed and there are still things to be examined
through poetry. Poetry comes by way of song,rap,spoken word,dance etc. Blue
sky has chosen spoken word as his way of sharing. Over the past ten years
Blue Sky has concentrated on performance and crafting his skills and at times
participating occasionally in open mic venues. Blue Sky has three C.D.s to
his credit and is still enjoying the process of spreading awareness and love
poetically.
